Most business owners groan at the word marketing. It means WORK, oh no! It is, however what makes a business ‘boom’ in every sense of the word.
In layman’s terms marketing can sound like a snore : the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising. But I am an actor , so I have to be grand about how I think of everything. To me, marketing is like getting onstage and giving the performance of a lifetime. Your job is to SELL that performance to the audience and get them to buy it! Yes, buy it. They need to BELIEVE that what you jut said onstage resonates like a fiery truth inside of them. When they believe that, they will return to every performance you are in thereafter.
I heard a great quote a long time ago that really resonated with me, in a personal and business way.

As business owners, we often work alone without a team, so the expectation comes from within ourselves, since we are our own boss. It is crucial to never say’that is enough’. Your job is to get the mass public to notice you, stick around, become a customer, and STAY a customer. That 4 step process is not easy, however I am going to offer you some tips to get you started on your journey to stardom.
Besides having your website that features the product or service you are selling, social media is ever present in our community now, and something I wish I had when I was younger! But the tools that are within our reach, and so easy to use. Here are the 4 social media type sites you should be using to boost noticeably to your business, and start getting those sales!
1.) Facebook- It is simple to build a fan page for your business. Use your page to post new items in your shop, business quotes, giveaways, special discounts in your shop and so much more!
2.)Twitter- Twitter is a great forum for promoting your business, and the best part is: you can link your twitter to your Facebook fan page! That’s right, every time you pot to your fan-page it will post to twitter! Double marketing in one fell swoop!
3.) A blog- Blog are a very important part of keeping your business going. Letting your customers know who you are and then picking some important topics to blog about will keep your business thriving.But it is not just good for introducing yourself to the world;Every time you write a blog post, it’s one more indexed page on your website. It’s also one more cue to Google and other search engines that your website is active and they should be checking in frequently to see what content you’ve published that they should surface. Blogging will drive people to your site! Be sure you are writing about content that is related to your business. For example, I am a designer and seamstress. So I write monthly style guides, weekly DIY’S , world fashion updates , and daily inspiration quotes to inspire people! I am with WordPress and highly recommend them. The interface is easy to use, and for a simple site it is free or very inexpensive to give it a nice upgrade so your customers will notice you!
4.) Pinterest- Pinterest is not just for all of the insane amount of recipes you pin, than swear you’ll make, or the million dollar wardrobe you’ve pinned and plan on owning; pinning is for businesses now and they have a great page to get you started with a new account, or convert your personal account into a business one!
